Residence Visa: This visa is issued for those who want to live and work permanently in the country if you are not a Libyan national or acquire a residency permit in one of the Libyan cities which allow foreigners residence, maximum stay is 3 years after that it can be renewed if still needed.

Visa Requirements:

  1. A Passport with at least 6 months validity and two empty pages.
  2. One application form filled by hand.
  3. Two passport-size photographs.
  4. A color copy of the first page of your passport and full information about your stay (Dates, Duration, Purpose).
  5. Letter from the company inviting you to Libya (on the headed paper). Address telephone number and fax number if any; name and position in the company of host or person responsible for resident foreigner.
  6. A Libyan guarantor person or a company in Libya that they will guarantee for your stay and return flight ticket.
  7. Visa fees depend on the duration of the visa and the nationality of the applicant.

You can submit all required documents to Libyan embassies or consulates by mail except the guarantor letter, which has to be issued from Tripoli.

Processing time for a visa is 3-5 working days. Single entry visas are valid for 1 month; Multiple entry visas are valid for 3 months, and Transit visas are valid for 1 week.

You should not worry about how to get a Libyan visa because it’s easy as you think; if you are applying from Tripoli embassies or consulates, then it would be issued for you, but if you are applying from your country’s embassy or consulate, then make sure they call your guarantor to confirm your information which should be a Libyan citizen living in Libya.

Visa Requirements

  1. A passport valid for at least six months with two empty pages.
  2. One application form, filled out and signed by the applicant (do not print in capital letters).
  3. Two recent passport size color photographs (35 X 45 mm) – Photographs must be glued to the application form (not stapled or taped).
  4. A copy of the first page of the applicant’s passport.
  5. An invitation letter from the company/individual you are visiting in Libya. It must include name, contact telephone number, address, and occupation of host or responsible person for resident foreigner if available. Date, duration, and purpose of visit to Libya.
  6. A letter of guarantee issued by a Libyan citizen with permanent residence in Libya or a company registered in Libya.
  7. Visa fees for one-month single entry, three months multiple entry visa €30, 7 days transit €20
  8. Proof of Yellow Fever Vaccination (if applicable)

Note:  Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in Libya.
