The Ubari Sand Sea or Ubari Sea, as it is sometimes called is made up of twenty saline lakes that are found deep within the desert dunes. Not where you would expect to find lakes that’s for sure. While the lakes are surrounded by towering dunes, they are also surrounded by tranquil palm trees, which is what makes this such an oasis area.
Lake Gaberoun is the largest of the lakes and probably the most beautiful. It’s surrounded by palm trees and you can see the towering golden dunes next to it making it one of those picture perfect moments. There is also the remains of an old village on one side that you can explore.
